Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information SocmedAI Web (web.socmedai.com, part of SocmedAI) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email support@socmedai.com.
What we collect
- Free review requests: your name, email address, website address, book title and anything you write to us.
- Orders: your name and pen name, email address, details about your books (genres, where they sell, launch date), your goals for the site, your newsletter service, your domain and hosting details, sites you like and your notes, plus the package, add-ons and any discount code.
- Payments: PayPal tells us the amount, its fees, its payment references and the email address of the PayPal account used. We never see or store your card number.
- Your project page: your bio, buy links and domain details, the files you upload (covers, author photos and others), and your feedback and approvals.
- Emails between you and us.
- Technical information: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run and protect the site.
How we use it
- To review your site and send you the review you asked for, with one follow-up about it.
- To build, launch and support your website, and to email you about your project: receipts, your project link, design previews and launch.
- To take payments, make refunds and keep financial records.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To answer your questions.
We don't send marketing newsletters unless you ask for them, and we don't sell your personal information.
Legal bases
If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a country with similar laws: we use your information to carry out our agreement with you (orders and project work), for our legitimate interests (answering review requests, security and keeping records), to meet legal duties (tax and accounting records) and, for optional analytics cookies, with your consent.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the service, and only what they need:
- PayPal, for payments and refunds.
- Hostinger, for website hosting and email.
- Supabase, for our database.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on our pages load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
- Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, only if we switch them on and only after you agree (see below).
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, for example in a payment dispute. Some of these providers process data outside your country; where the law requires it, they use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and similar storage
- Necessary: your browser stores your order form while you fill it in so you don't lose it, your cookie choice and the settings of our guide robot. PayPal sets its own cookies during checkout. Our team gets a sign-in cookie when they use the admin.
- Optional analytics and ad measurement (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel): only if we've switched them on, and they load only after you choose "Allow" in the cookie banner. They never load on your private project page. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
Your project link
Your project page opens from a private link we email you. Anyone with that link can see your project, so please don't share it. If you think someone else has it, email us and we'll replace it with a new one.
How long we keep it
- Orders, payments and receipts: as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually up to seven years.
- Your project details and the files you upload: while we build and support your website, and until you ask us to delete them.
- Review requests that don't lead to an order: we delete them after two years, or sooner if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a copy of it, or object to how we use it, and you can withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time. Email support@socmedai.com and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as payment records, where the law requires it. If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
We use HTTPS throughout, store team passwords only in hashed form, limit access to the people working on your project and keep our database out of public reach. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us straight away if you think your project link has been exposed.
Children
Our service is for authors and publishers. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We'll post changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email customers with active projects.
